This particular teacup is handcrafted using ceramic and glazed over in white glaze. The unique way the glaze is applied is by "scooping" the glaze using the unglazed teacup, stylized, and set in the kiln.
The end result is a distinct circular pattern that emits a ripple-like reflection under teacup when light is shone at an angle.
All of our tea wares are handcrafted in the Shizuoka prefecture by a family who has been making teaware for generations.
Being individually handcrafted, colours and patterns may vary slightly thus giving each item its distinctive character.
