Sabi Tokusa, meaning Ten Rusty Grass, is a tea cup made in a distinct style known as Mino ware.
Mino ware is one of Japan's most well-known form of ceramics. Mino Province, modern-day Gifu Prefecture, has been the site for ceramic production for centuries producing some of Japan's historic forms of pottery. Mino ware’s prime came during the Momoyama period when famous warlords and samurai had an even more profound and deeper appreciation of tea which underwent new developments. Hence, various famous styles such as Oribe Ware (attributed to the Daimyo, Furuta Oribe) were created during this time and still exist in their own distinct form and style to this day.
